Julia Ciesielska
Choreographer
Julia Ciesielska, born and raised in Poland, is a graduate of Janina Jarzynówna-Sobczak’s Ballet School in Gdańsk. She is now earning her BFA in Dance at the Juilliard School in New York directed by Alicia Graf Mack and will graduate in May 2025. Julia was fortunate to attend the International Project Youth Spirit of
Dance 2019 in Japan, International Ballet Summer School Dresden in Palucca University of Dance 2019, Orsolina28 Intensive 2022 in Italy, and NDT Summer Intensive 2023 in Nederlands. At Juilliard, she has performed works by Medhi Walerski, Aszure Barton, Johannes Wieland, Sidra Bell, Caili Quan, and Yin Yue.
In 2024 she was selected to perform in R.O.S.E by Sharon Eyal in the Park Avenue Armory. In 2021, she was honored with the Special Ewa Głowacka’s Award for the female dancer of charming personality and outstanding dance beauty by the Ballet Foundation International Golden Pointe Shoes. In 2019, she received the Young Dancer of The Year award and a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in Poland as well as Pomeranian Artistic Hope 2019 from the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Julia was selected to choreograph for Juilliard shows, including Choreographers and Composers, and Senior Production as well as to present her pieces in Choreographic Honors. In 2023 and 2024, she received the 1st Award in a Choreographic Competition ZAiKS in Poland.
